GRACE
Sometimes it is hard to see in our lives, but God's grace surrounds us every day. When we have time to stop and see it, it is a truly amazing and breath-taking thing. On the other pages, I describe a little bit about our lives, some about Cystic Fibrosis, and some about faith. This page, I hope, will show you God's grace at work in our lives.
The day of Jacob's diagnosis was a low point in our lives. The untold part of the diagnosis is the tremendous amount of money that it takes to care for a child with Cystic Fibrosis. Insurance helps, but there are many things that insurance does not cover; the extra food supplements, vitamins, travel to doctors, time off work. All of these things are a drain on funds. We learned this quickly when Jacob had to have special formula and additives for his bottle. I don't think that there was any way that we could have afforded all of those cans of formula. We arrived home one day to find two cases of formula on our porch. Sales representative from the formula company heard of our plight and wanted to help. When that ran out, we went and bought some more, and then that ran out quite quickly. Somehow, God provided some more for us.
Our lives seem to work this way. The story above is just one example of how God has moved to take care of us throughout the years. Times have not always been easy, sometimes they have been downright impossible. When it seems that there is no way we are going to make it, God steps in to remind us that nothing is impossible for Him. Every day and every way, God provides for our needs.
Grace can be described in our life as God's presence, protection, guidance and love. I hope that you are able to see God's grace in your lives, and pray that He will make Himself known to each and every one of you.
